THE PODCAST

The Upper Onny Farmers Podcast
Real conversations from life on the land.
This podcast is where we share honest conversations about farming, land, and rural life. In each episode we sit down with farmers and local voices from across the Upper Onny valley to talk about what’s really happening on the ground, the challenges we face, the ideas we’re exploring, and the experiences that shape our work.
It’s relaxed, practical, and rooted in everyday farming life. We believe the best learning comes from sharing knowledge, listening to one another, and keeping conversations open.

Why We Started This Podcast
A podcast for farmers, landworkers, neighbours, and anyone interested in understanding rural life more deeply.
The Upper Onny Farmers Podcast was funded by the Shropshire Hills Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme. The grant enabled the group to acquire the necessary recording equipment and undertake training to begin documenting their day-to-day farming lives. The project has created a new platform to connect farmers with the wider community, increase understanding of food production, and highlight the vital role that farming plays in caring for the Shropshire Hills landscape.

“Talking with other farmers here gives us strength, ideas and a sense that we’re not doing this alone.”
